What is MACRoCk?
30 03 2011MACRoCk stands for the Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference. This entire event is basically a celebration of college radio. Not only are there shows at MACRoCk, but there are also workshops, panels, and a label exposition. MACRoCk exists through the help of grass-roots businesses that believe in college and non-profit radio, proving that independent music lives without corporate influence. The attendance is growing more and more every year, so come on out and support this great event.

SHOW(s) OF THE WEEK!
30 03 2011MACRoCk is this weekend, April 1st and 2nd. More than 20 bands will be participating in the jam packed weekend of music in the downtown Harrisonburg area. The great thing about MACRoCk is that you don’t need to pay a cover at each venue, rather you buy a wristband for the day, which is $15, or get one for both days which would only cost $25. The line-up of bands and venues is listed below. This should be an insane weekend for music that you won’t want to miss. Check it out.

Denay Fuglie’s Show=BIG HIT
30 03 2011There was a huge turnout for the “Denay and Friends” show in Common Grounds last Saturday. Denay played with a number of different artists during the concert, and I feel that everyone who was in attendance of the show was not left disappointed. New band, “Sloppy Pete and the Average Joes” also played at the concert and above is a cover of the song “Heartbeats,” by The Knife that they covered that night.
