What is MACRoCk?

30 03 2011

MACRoCk stands for the Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference.  This entire event is basically a celebration of college radio.  Not only are there shows at MACRoCk, but there are also workshops, panels, and a label exposition.  MACRoCk exists through the help of grass-roots businesses that believe in college and non-profit radio, proving that independent music lives without corporate influence.  The attendance is growing more and more every year, so come on out and support this great event.

Denay Fuglie’s Show=BIG HIT

30 03 2011

There was a huge turnout for the “Denay and Friends” show in Common Grounds last Saturday.  Denay played with a number of different artists during the concert, and I feel that everyone who was in attendance of the show was not left disappointed.  New band, “Sloppy Pete and the Average Joes” also played at the concert and above is a cover of the song “Heartbeats,” by The Knife that they covered that night.

This is one of my personal favorite songs by titled “Little Girl.”  This song is also featuring Kelsey Yoder with vocals.  Enjoy!

SHOW OF THE WEEK!

Come out to Common Grounds on the Eastern Mennonite University to the “Denay and Friends” concert.  It is free to get into and begins at 9:00.  Denay plays acoustic guitar and has a very unique, and amazing voice.  She will be playing a mix of her own stuff, with a few covers thrown in.  Denay will be collaborating with others on a few songs as well.  She will be launching the new band called “Uncle Jesse and The Olsen Twins.”  So come out and it is sure to be a blast.
